At some point, many divers have found themselves alone during a dive, whether it was accidental or not.  SSI Independent Diving teaches the practice of self-reliant scuba diving rather than relying on the traditional buddy diving safety system, Independent divers should be skilled in self-sufficiency and take responsibility for their own safety while diving.

Being one of Aquatic Sport’s most popular courses amongst Dive professionals, the Independent Diver course stresses proper dive planning, personal limitations, and accident prevention, as well as the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving solo. You will also learn the additional equipment that is required for Independent diving including its proper usage and assembly. This is the perfect course for underwater photographers and videographers as well as divers wishing to expand their knowledge and comfort while diving.

$250.00 per diver, including online learning materials. Check-out dive fee are not included.

Prerequisites to this course: 50+ logged dives, Stress & Rescue certification, Navigation certification, and Night & Limited Visibility certification.

Divers need to own their own personal life support diving equipment.
